XM Satellite Radio to Broadcast 'A Concert For Hurricane Relief' Live on September 2XM Satellite Radio |
XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading provider of satellite radio with more than 4.4 million subscribers, will broadcast "A Concert For Hurricane Relief," a live benefit special organized by the NBC Universal Television Group to help victims of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, on Friday, September 2, at 8:00 pm ET.
The hour-long music and celebrity driven broadcast will air live in its entirety on XM's MSNBC channel (XM Channel 130) and XM's CNBC channel (XM Channel 127). Donation phone lines will be open throughout the evening. The special will feature performances by artists with ties to the affected areas, including Faith Hill, Aaron Neville, Tim McGraw, Harry Connick, Jr., and Wynton Marsalis, and appearances from stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Mike Myers, Hilary Swank, Lindsay Lohan, Claire Danes, John Goodman, Eriq LaSalle and Eli Manning. The event will also air across NBC's broadcast and cable TV channels.
XM is encouraging its listeners to donate much-needed funds to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund through its web site (http://www.xmradio.com/helpinghand) and by phone at 1-800-HELP-NOW.
