SIRIUS Introduces New Satellite Radio Receiver For The HomeSIRIUS Satellite Radio |
SIRIUS Satellite Radio today announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that it is introducing a new satellite radio receiver designed to interface with multiple radios, audio systems and home theater systems.
The new SiriusConnect Home tuner makes it possible to easily add SIRIUS' service to SIRIUS-ready home systems manufactured by companies such as Eton, and Thomson, under the RCA and GE brands, as well as other brands to be announced.
"We have frequently said that we want to make our unique and compelling programming available over as many products as we can," said Bob Law, Senior Vice President and General Manager Consumer Electronics Division for SIRIUS. "This compact product makes it very easy to get SIRIUS and is a low-cost way of integrating our service over multiple home product lines now, and in the future."
Measuring only 4 by 3 inches, the compact unit can sit flat or be wall mounted for flexible installation options, and provides a one-cable connection to a SIRIUS-ready home receiver or system. The unit also has RCA analog and optical digital outputs for hi-fidelity audio. SIRIUS is also providing an optional wireless display controller that permits SIRIUS connectivity with a non-SIRIUS-ready receiver.
The SiriusConnect Home tuner kit includes everything for easy home installation, including the SiriusConnect receiver, indoor/outdoor antenna with 21 foot cable, 8-pin mini DIN connector cable and an AC power adapter for an MSRP of $49.99.
The SiriusConnect Home tuner will be distributed by Directed Electronics.
