THE PLAYERS Championship to Tee Off on PGA TOUR Network on XM Satellite RadioXM Satellite Radio |
XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio company with more than six million subscribers today announced that the PGA TOUR Network (XM Channel 146) will air live coverage of THE PLAYERS Championship at the Stadium Course TPC at Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. to be held March 23-26. The live coverage of the THE PLAYERS Championship will feature 49 of the top 50 players in the world, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, and defending champion Fred Funk, among others.

Delphi XM2go MyFi radios will be available at the golf course for rent or purchase so fans can hear live, comprehensive THE PLAYERS Championship coverage throughout the course, as well as other XM programming. The portable XM2go radio was named by Popular Science as one of the best new products of 2005.
Broadcasts from the tournament site will be carried on the PGA TOUR Network (XM 146) Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET. Broadcasts will keep the listener up-to-date on the latest leaderboard and on-course action, while delivering a behind-the-scenes look into the PGA TOUR, tournaments and players through compelling interviews and features.
The XM PGA TOUR Network, in partnership with programming company Pure Golf, provides listeners with in-depth coverage of PGA TOUR events, news, interviews, and call-in programs, including:
- Pure Golf -- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. ET each weekday morning. The
hour morning show, featuring an inside look into the world of golf news
and events, replays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET. The show reviews and
analyzes the latest happenings in and around the world of golf, as well
as features and live phone calls from golf personalities and listeners.
- Scorecard Updates -- A signature studio update of all current pro golf
news and events. This features breaking news from the PGA TOUR,
Nationwide Tour, LPGA Tour, Champions Tour, collegiate ranks, and
updates throughout the day during PGA TOUR Live and Pure Golf.
XM has the most live sports in satellite radio, with more than 5,000 live sporting events in 2006.
